About daniela

At the end of the day the city runs on administrative work, the city council positions are service positions. I want to work for you.

I decided to run after looking and speaking to the candidates for my district and finding myself less than excited over my choices this coming November.

I want a city that prioritizes the working class, social programs, the local economy, and rejects exploitative contracts that benefit the few, such as the data centers and the deck plaza. If I had to file to get closer to the change we want to see, then that’s what I had to do.

Throughout my working career I have found that the best way to learn a new industry is through administrative work, building yourself up. By taking administrative positions I have worked my way up to being an education specialist at the City of Austin and writing the multidisciplinary curriculum for their Parks and Recs summer programs; I have gotten my license as a loan officer and learned the ins and outs of the housing industry; and earlier this year I took a step back from my family’s small business to learn about land restoration and conservation.

At the end of the day the city runs on administrative work, the city council positions are service positions. I want to work for you.

I was born and raised here in El Paso. Graduated from Coronado High School, class of ‘08, and have a Bachelors in fine arts and innovative education.

I am the co-captain of the first Ullamaliztli team in Texas. That’s the 4,000 year old Mesoamerican sport where players hip-kick a solid 9 lb rubber ball. Our team is the Ahuitzomeh, also known as the ancient water defenders. I am also a member of Las Milpitas del Norte which promotes sustainable agriculture indigenous to the  Chihuahua Desert through community gardening/farming. When I’m not farming or hip-kicking a nine pound ball, I’m either hiking along the Franklin Mountains or learning about community organizing.
